I’m also hopeful that Yancey will get things back on track and clearly explain for readers in book three (releasing Fall 2015) who and what the aliens are that have wiped out almost all of humanity.

I can’t wait to see what happens next with Ringer. Overall, I still really liked this book and absolutely recommend the series. It didn’t seem like Yancey intentionally wrote the scene the way he did for a certain effect or as part of the readers journey, it just seemed like a huge bombshell was dropped in the story line, but dropped poorly and in such a way that from what I can gather from others, we’re all very confused. I am the one turning to face the faceless hunter in the woods on an abandoned highway. No one can anticipate the depths to which the Others will sink - nor the heights to which. Because of this, I’m giving The Infinite Sea three stars instead of four. I may be the last one, but I am the one still standing. Because the next attack is more than possible - its inevitable. I’ve read through a lot of comments online to see how other readers are interpreting the information that was given, but I’m still somewhat confused. 'There was a boy, a real human boy named Evan Walker' (71.75). The end of the book had a fairly confusing, but hugely important scene, that after reading three times, I was still unsure of what had just happened. Readers get to follow Cassie and Evan, as well as Ben in this book, but Ringer’s story definitely takes center stage. In contrast, however, The Infinite Sea spends more time focusing on the character of Ringer. The story picks up right where book one left off. There is tension between Cassie and Evan, both unsure of how to act in front of the other. She envisions what she will do to Vosch once she finally meets him again. I loved book one, The Fifth Wave and was incredibly excited to read it. Summary In A Flower to the Rain, Cassie wakes up with Evan by the fireplace.
